fast and reliable clinical care...

Volvo Penta has expanded its marine IMO Tier III range with new D13 solutions. This expands the range of marine commercial Volvo Penta D13 IMO III solutions for IPS-1200, IPS-1350, D13-900, and D13-1000. Demonstrating the commitment of the Volvo Group to exceed industry and regulatory best practice, each package exceeds the IMO III standards

The Volvo Penta IMO Tier III solution is the most compact on the market helping making the transition to IMO III compliance simple for both Volvo Penta IPS and traditional inboard shaft installations. The compact design means that existing Volvo Penta IPS-powered vessels will be able to fit the system without engine room alterations with the added versatility of in either a vertical or horizontal position Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system.

Case Study:

Improving sustainability for critical rescue and emergency operations, the Volvo Penta D13 IMO III powered Rosesol is a 23-metre high-speed fibreglass catamaran with an 8-metre beam capable of speeds of more than 30 knots. Serving the hospital, specialist and community sectors, the ambulance boat Rosesol delivers fast and reliable clinical care to the patients and residents of the Norwegian Austevoll municipality.

“In this region it’s necessary to have an ambulance boat because it’s not possible to go to the hospital by car” and “time is critical for many patients “ said Kjell Augestad-Mjåtvedt, Captain of the Rosesol. “We now have the capability of 30-plus knots, not only on flat seas but also in gales and rough water,” says Kjell Augestad-Mjåtvedt.
