In many parts of Australia, the summer boating season is now underway. Whilst boating occurs all year round, the improving temperatures from October onwards lure us back onto the water in greater numbers and frequency. With more than 85 per cent of the population of Australia living within 50km of a coastline, an estimated 20 per cent plus of all Australians annually engage in some form of boating activity. For seasoned boaters, now is the time to make sure your boat is serviced and ready to go, all the right gear is on board and that if you use a vehicle to tow your vessel, the trailer is in equally good condition, your EPRIB is current and registered. Check your boat licence and make sure your vessel registration and insurance is up to date. Checking the finer detail before you go boating can save lives.
