Don Morton Marine: Adelaide, South Australia. Your boat and engine, like your car, needs to be serviced and maintained. The boat trailer however is often neglected. Consider how your trailer, its wheel bearings, hubs, lights and brakes get dunked at least twice every time you go boating. A freshwater wash down of your boat trailer after each use will extend the life of your wheel bearing, hubs, lights and trailer brakes if so equipped. Park your trailer and have a friend or family member stand by to make sure that all your boat trailer lights are working properly - brake lights, tail lights and indicators, just to be sure. Do an inspection of your trailer hubs by popping the bearing buddies with a screwdriver. If the wheel bearings are dry, add grease. If unsure, seek advice. Ask a colleague or your boating mechanic to show and talk you through the process. Carry spare bearings, grease and a spare wheel, just in case ! No matter wether your boat is a Whittley Boat, Savage Boat or perhaps something entirely different. When your boat is off the trailer, ensure that you inspect the trailer, rollers and supports. Pay attention to any signs of wear and clear embedded sand, grit or gravel. At Don Morton Marine we stock Mackay & Dunbier boat trailer repair spares. Need assistance. Enquire Now.
