Carbon Emissions - Outboards (Marine Vessels)
The Product Emissions Standards Act 2017 commenced on 15 September 2017. Emissions controlled products under the Act include new spark-ignition engines used in marine vessels including outboard engines. The Act establishes a national framework that allows Australia to address the adverse impacts of air pollution from certain products on human and environmental health making the import and supply of emissions controlled products in Australia an offence if the product has not been certified. The emissions standards do not apply to engines and equipment people already own.
With climate change firmly on the public agenda, Evinrude has stepped to the top of the environmental podium with regards to reducing marine industry carbon emissions. Evinrude is the first outboard engine brand to gain full range-wide environmental Australian Emissions Regulations certification. This range includes Evinrude HO, G2, G1, V4 and Inline, Jet and Portable engines. The E-TEC two-stroke outboard engine range, uses direct injection technology to precisely control the amount of fuel entering the combustion chamber. This allows the engine to produce less reportable emissions through increased fuel-efficiency whilst maintaining a power and performance advantage over leading competitors.
For environmentally sustainability without compromised performance, the choice should only be Evinrude!
