Located at Kilkenny in the western suburbs of Adelaide and less than 30 minutes from the boating precincts of Glenelg, North Haven and Port Adelaide and with a diversified client base that includes boat builders, commercial and recreational fishermen any heavy machinery operators, Don Morton Marine is much more than a name. With over 50 years of industry experience, we are your local Marine Propulsion & Sea Power Specialist.
Mechanically powered marine propulsion systems are generally categorised as either being an outboard propulsion system (OB) or an inboard propulsion system (IB). Inboard Motors typically have more horsepower and better fuel efficiency than an outboard motor. A typical inboard engine can be positioned in various locations on a boat. The power from the engine to the propeller is transferred through a shaft. With a low center of gravity inboard motors are a popular choice for commercial fishing, charter and houseboat boat operators. Inboard motors can also help create a smaller wake behind the boat making them ideal for surface water sports such as water-skiing, water tubing or wakeboarding.

In June 2020 Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) announced that it would immediately discontinue the manufacturing of all Evinrude outboard motors due to challenges caused by COVID-19. In its press release, BRP noted that it remains committed to focusing on the growth of its boat brands with new technology and innovative marine products through developing its acquisition of boat manufacturer brands Alumacraft, Manitou, Quintrex, Stacer and Savage boats along with the Rotax marine propulsion system.
The sun may have set on production of the BRP Evinrude E-TEC and Outboard brand but rest assured our team at Don Morton Marine is working hard to continue to be a leader in the supply of inboard and outboard motors whilst we continue to be there for Genuine Evinrude Marine Spare Parts, Service and Boating Advice.
