To be built in the United Kingdom with a Volvo Penta IPS 30 quad installation, the Ginny Louise's diesel engines are being replaced with a zero-emissions Volvo Penta powered solution. Creating a world first in retrofitted electric CTV's, when the complete the vessel will be re-named e-Ginny. Cleaner and leaner, the e-Ginny's unique design will not only deliver on emissions-free technology but also a smoother ride, better manoeuvrability and seamless movement and control courtesy of the forward-facing, individually-steerable drives.
As part of the Tidal Transit purpose-design crew transfer vessel project, new charging infrastructure will be installed, both through an onshore charging station and an offshore wind turbine-based charger. In combination with the ultra-efficient Volvo Penta IPS platform, this will greatly increase the range of the vessel and the amount of time it can spend at work without returning to port. Undertaken in partnership with Goodchild Marine Services, Artemis Technologies, and MJR Power & Automation, key equipment suppliers also include Volvo Penta, Danfoss and Corvus Energy.
